Quando il riformismo socialista – il graduale avvicinamento al socialismo attraverso conquiste progressive - era una politica seria e conseguente alle sue idealità. Era coscienza ferma e ferrea, non in vendita. Non adusa al facile compromesso e all'accordo bottegaio, ma rispettosa dei suoi doveri verso i lavoratori e le masse dell'Italia e non solo. Quando il pacifismo, del quale il riformismo socialista si alimentava, non era una vuota parola, un inganno verbale per giustificare colpevolmente invasioni e aggressioni.
A quel riformismo socialista d'inizio Novecento, fatto di martiri e militanti instancabili, noi non possiamo non dirci collegati, generati e innervati.
